The Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2026 Licensing Round was announced earlier this week, on May 5, 2026👏. Seventy (70) new blocks have been added to the APA acreage (predefined areas). Highlights ⤵️
- 22 blocks and parts of blocks have been added in the North Sea👏
- 10 blocks have been added in the Norwegian Sea👏
- 38 blocks have been added in the Barents Sea 👏
– Applications for oil and gas exploration licences can be submitted for available blocks or parts of blocks in the predefined areas👏
➡️ Finally, the deadline to apply for APA 2026 is 12:00 noon on Tuesday, 1 September 2026. Licence Awards are expected during the first quarter of 2027.
